Fairfield now has its own branch of the WI and it has got off to a flying start with many at the inaugural meeting at the beginning of the month.
They meet on the first Wednesday of the month in the Community Hall in Kipling Crescent.
On the 7th August, the speaker will be Leonard Little, telling us his story as an officer with the Hertfordshire Police (now retired) and his involvement with the training and use of Drug Search Dogs.
You do not have to be a member to come and listen to Leonard, but will be charged £5 on the door as a guest.
The long held concept of the WI that it is for the older women was proved wrong at the first meeting.
It is open to women of all ages and we have new members join every month.
